it has been a really long time since i updated my blog. So to let you know a little bit about what i've been doing, read on.
The past seven weeks have been a little dull, i found a job which was great but it was at a logistics company for ericsson and to say the majority of people who work there have the intelligence of sheep is an understatement. the work was monotonous and repetitive, paid minimum wage and took up more than 40 hours of my week. so i quit yesterday. i'm now on the look out again.
This week has been the Dutch Design Week. Eindhoven is a very design orientated city and there are exposities and parties all week, one of which i'm recovering from now. Wouter and Alex have had there work set up and it looks really fancy they have three prototype lamps and about 6 or 7 coaster designs on presentation, as well as the programs they built for them on two computers.
In november we are going to prague, i'm super excited! we are going with a friend of wouter's who used to live there so he's going to take us to all the good spots :)
For my birthday wouter bought me a print of 1000 business cards, because now i am getting pretty serious about selling myself as a photographer and illustrator and when i meet people i should leave them with something so they dont forget me. and he also is going to take me to maastricht. Maastricht is an old town at the very bottom of the netherlands, i've been told it's very pretty.
other than that not much else has been happening. i've been taking lots of photos and i have now finnished my website, i just have to buy the domain.
i hope all is well in little aussie! it's really cold here, freezing overnight, hope it's not too hot there. sending my love!

Yesterday we moved into our new house. It's three bedrooms, two on the first floor and one on the second. It's typically dutch, narrow with a big window at the front. But the best thing is that it is clean! and we're not living with a bunch of other people.
Tomorrow i am giving a presentation at TAC for a studio space. In the evening i am going along to Dekate Mousa, a photo club. They have dark rooms and a lighting studio.
till next time...

just arrived back from Sziget (music festival in Hungary). Budapest was an amazingly beautiful city. We spent the week camping and not showering, music was being played somewhere on the terrain 24 hours a day for 7 days. Beer ran from low pressure taps at 380 forents per half litre (about 1.50 euro cents, i think about 2 AUD!) Towards the end of the festival my body simply refused to digest the thoroughly awful and often deep fried food served by lazy and entirely uninterested caterers. I wore sunscreen with an SPF of 10!! it was just as hot as the big day out but i managed not to get sunburnt! There were a few moments of relief from the sun, in which it poured down rain. Try to imagine the 10 000 people camping on an island basically trees and dirt without showering for a week. But on Sziget you get into a different mind set, clean is strange. On one of the days i went with Wouter, Alex and Thys to a Bath House in Budapest. We stepped out of the subway in the middle of a park and into a really massive old building with about 20 pools and saunas all with slightly different temperatures. The first one was freezing cold and the second quite warm, around 34 degrees. The hottest one i think was about 38 degrees. The saunas ranged from 40 to 70 degrees (ugh!). Overall Sziget was definately my best festival experience ever! If i am around next year i'll definately be going!

i haven't updated my blog for a long long time. I have so much news that the task is almost daunting. soon, ik belooft.
In the meantime, last week we went to Hamburg in Germany to see a little australian musician called Darren Hanlon. Venue was tiny and echt gezellig (very cosy). German highways make long drives a little less dull:

There is no speed limit and apparently no need to use indicators. We were in the slow lane at 140 km/h. People passed us at around 180km/h...zoom! This sign frequently provided amusement, atleast for me. It's the exit sign:

Then to the concert, supported by a lovely australian female singer, piccolet (i think):

And then Darren. We spoke after the gig and he signed the set list for me :)
